When you eat freezer food, you have to keep your expectations in check. While there are a few dishes out there that will impress you, most frozen meals are merely okay. You’re sacrificing a few things for the sake of convenience, and most of the time, that sacrifice is acceptable.
Amy’s Chili Mac & Cheese isn’t a great freezer meal; Amy definitely has better products in her line-up. That doesn’t mean that it’s a bad meal, however. This chili mac dish might not look very appetizing, but it’s actually fine. It’s an edible, alright-tasting dish that you’ll probably forget about after your meal is over.
If you’ve ever had chili from a can, you have an idea of what this dish tastes like. The ingredients aren’t especially fresh-tasting or savory; it simply tastes like a basic chili stirred into a bowl of box mac & cheese. If that’s what you’re in the mood for, this dish should fit the bill.
This chili mac is probably a lot healthier that it looks. The milk, beans, and other ingredients are organic, and the dish is free of trans fats. It’s a great way to fulfill your cravings for junk while still eating a regular diet, but it’s not something that you should eat if you’re looking for memorable food.
