Good Food Made Simple Huevos Rancheros Café Wrap Review

Good Food Made Simple Huevos Rancheros Café Wrap

When you’re craving Mexican but you haven’t had your morning coffee yet, huevos rancheros can be a pretty good compromise. Yes, it has a lot of the trappings of a good Mexican dish, but it also has eggs, so you won’t feel bad about calling it breakfast. Good Food Made Simple made the interesting choice of cramming huevos rancheros into a tortilla to create the Heuvos Rancheros Café Wrap.

Does it work?

Well, yes it does, actually.

A major part of this wrap’s filling is the cage-free egg whites, so it leans heavily on the cheese and salsa content for its flavor. The presence of uncured bacon, which is advertised on the packaging, is barely noticeable here, but that shouldn’t be a surprise for anyone familiar with frozen meals.

There are also some scallions and jalapeno peppers, as well as some sort of southwest spice blend, but this definitely isn’t a spicy burrito by any means.

While the Heuvos Rancheros Café Wrap isn’t the most impressive breakfast wrap (or breakfast burrito) we’ve had, it’s not half bad. It’s better than mediocre, but it’s far below exceptional. But it sure beats a guilt-ridden trip through Taco Bell’s drive-through at 9 a.m.
