Lean Cuisine Chicken Ranch Club Flatbread Melt Review

Lean Cuisine Chicken Ranch Club Flatbread Melt

A good chicken flatbread sandwich can be a real treat, but sometimes you’re just too busy to make time to stop at a deli. Lean Cuisine is here with a solution to that very problem, their Chicken Ranch Club Flatbread Melt.

This is the type of meal we really wanted to cook in the oven, but it didn’t come with oven instructions and it had a fold-out box that’s clearly designed with microwave use in mind. Of course, that means it’s ready in just two and a half minutes, which is probably less time than it will take you to fold the box properly.

It heats up rather nicely, and the flatbread retains a crispy texture. No need to worry about soggy sandwich syndrome with this meal.

The portioning of chicken, bacon and veggies wasn’t exactly impressive, but it still manages to come out of the microwave looking delicious. In fact, we wouldn’t fault anyone for thinking this was a mini pizza.

However, if the image on the packaging is anything to go by, the flatbread should be folded into a friendly-looking smile shape. We were happy to oblige.

The ranch and cheese blend into a sort of creamy filling that has a bit more sweetness to it than we expected. It’s not a bad thing, though we would have probably preferred a good cheddar to the romano, parmesan and asiago cheese blend.

The flatbread itself, though, was delicious enough to make the sandwich enjoyable as a whole, and the chicken was of a decent enough level of quality that we weren’t stuck choking down that stringy mess that some frozen food manufacturers try to pass off as chicken.

All in all, it’s not a bad sandwich, though it didn’t fill us up as much as we’d hoped. At 370 calories (80 from fat), that can be a problem for some. Two sandwiches — a serving size that really doesn’t seem too outrageous based on how filling they are — will come out to almost 800 calories.
