Good Food Made Simple Turkey Meatball Pasta Review

Good Food Made Simple Turkey Meatball

We’ve said it before, but we’re always a little apprehensive to try out frozen pasta dishes. We’ve been burned in the past, and it’s hard to rebuild trust in a frozen food item once it’s been lost.

Now, the folks at Good Food Made Simple understand our plight, and they’re usually on point when it comes to getting their frozen meals just right, no matter what type of food it is. With their Turkey Meatball dish, however, it feels like they barely even tried.

Let’s start with the turkey meatballs, since that’s the titular item in this dish. They’re a pretty good size, which is nice, and they have a pretty good flavor — there’s a little bit of a zest to them. However, the consistency is way off; biting into these things feels like chewing on rubber.

There are some veggies mixed into the dish, but we had to really search to find anything that wasn’t broccoli. We found a single bell pepper in the entire meal.

The sauce tastes like a bottom-shelf budget sauce; the flavor is bland and dull, and it’s way too watery. The pasta is too soggy as well, which doesn’t help mitigate the soupy sauce.

We’re huge fans of Good Food Made Simple’s frozen foods, but the Turkey Meatball pasta is a dish you might want to skip. If you’re on the hunt for a tasty frozen pasta, try Lean Cuisine’s Four Cheese Cannelloni or Amy’s Cheese Ravioli with Sauce.
