Amy’s Vegetable Penne & Marinara Review

Amy's Vegetable Penne & Marinara Review

When we headed to the frozen food section of our local grocery store, Amy’s Vegetable Penne & Marinara immediately caught our eye. The “biodynamic” pasta and tomatoes sounded like something out of a comic book. Unfortunately, this meal didn’t give us any superpowers. It just left us with a bad taste in our mouths.

While Amy’s pasta is normally of a high quality, this pasta was sub-par. It was bland, even when doused in sauce, and the texture wasn’t right at all. We don’t mind al dente pasta, but this dish definitely felt undercooked.

The vegetables and sauce weren’t any better. If you typically enjoy Amy’s tomato-based sauces, you should know that you’re not getting that level of quality here. This dish is made with a thin sugar sauce that’s lacking in flavor. The peas and broccoli are organic, but they taste like something out of a can. We were really disappointed by the quality of these ingredients.

We’re not sure what went wrong here. We expect a lot better from Amy’s Kitchen. Don’t let your curiosity about biodynamic food tempt you into trying this meal. Nothing about this dish was appealing; we couldn’t even finish it. Amy’s makes some great pasta dishes, but this isn’t one of them.
