Lean Cuisine’s Craveables line almost always impresses us. It’s amazing how they can take foods that would usually turn out kind of soggy in the microwave and somehow always get them to work.
This is oftentimes due to the silver-lined, self-folding cooking tray these frozen meals come packaged with. We’re not sure how it works — we’re frozen food connoisseurs, not scientists — but it always seems to do the trick.
The Deep Dish Three Meat Pizza is no exception. The top is nice and soft while the bottom has a nice bit of crisp to it. It does get a little too hard toward the center, but it’s not enough to ruin the meal or anything. All in all, the crust has a good consistency and it tastes great.
Which is fortunate, because this pizza is mostly crust. The helpings of sauce and mozzarella cheese are pretty minuscule.
The three meats referenced in the title are pepperoni, Italian sausage, and beef. The pepperoni is a little dry, but it tastes alright. The sausage and beef, however, is nice and juicy and has a great flavor.
Lean Cuisine’s Deep Dish Three Meat Pizza won’t knock your socks off, but it makes a pretty decent lunch. We must note, however, that we did prefer Lean Cuisine’s Supreme Pizza over this one.
