Lean Cuisine Spaghetti with Meat Sauce Review

Lean Cuisine Spaghetti with Meat Sauce

We keep finding ourselves impressed by Lean Cuisine’s line of frozen pasta dishes. While we have spotted a misfire or two, the line as a whole has a pretty great track record. We’re huge fans of their Spicy Penne Arrabbiata and their Four Cheese Cannelloni.

So we weren’t worried a bit to check out the Spaghetti with Meat Sauce. Perhaps we should have been, as this dish fails to live up to the expectations set by its peers in the Lean Cuisine pasta line.

Spaghetti is one of the simplest dishes to make at home, and it tends to reheat well, so it’s a great food to cook up in large batches and divide up the leftovers for lunch for the next few days. So a frozen spaghetti is a little unnecessary in the first place. But this means a frozen spaghetti should taste at least a little bit better than the leftovers from your Sunday meal. But this spaghetti has the muted flavor and dull consistency of a reheated dish of leftovers.

There is a bright side, however. The beef helping was plentiful, juicy, and flavorful. There are bits of tomatoes in the sauce, and we also found one solitary mushroom in the whole dish.

This frozen food isn’t terrible by any means. It’s just a mediocre meal that shares a lineup with some really great frozen dinners. We’d recommend the dishes we mentioned earlier, or you could check out the Lasagna with Meat Sauce for a meal you’ll be far better satisfied by.
