Sandwich Bros. Egg & Cheese Flatbread Pocket Sandwich Review

Sandwich Bros. Egg & Cheese Flatbread Pocket Sandwich

Sandwich Bros. of Wisconsin is a company that promises their products will be “really… really tasty” or you’ll get your money back. While this statement might send your expectations through the roof, you should keep those expectations in check because these are halfway decent sandwiches. They heat up quickly, so they can be a lifesaver when you’re running late for work and need a quick bite to devour on the way.

And the person who’s perpetually in a hurry seems to be the exact type of person Sandwich Bros. is reaching out to with their Egg & Cheese Flatbread Pocket Sandwiches. Here’s what the back of the box says about this frozen food:

As we mentioned earlier, these sandwiches heat up in under a minute. Just wrap one in a napkin and toss it into the microwave for 50 seconds or so. The perfect sandwich, the package tells us, is one where the cheese has just started to melt, so that’s what you’re going for here.

There’s not a lot to this sandwich, really, but when you’re in a hurry, a pragmatic approach is preferred over an overly complex one. Besides, we can’t fault Sandwich Bros. for the simplicity of this snack when it definitely does exactly what it needs to do.

There are three major components here: egg, cheese, and a flatbread shell. The flatbread is pretty good, and it maintains its consistency well using the heating instructions on the package. The egg patty, which is actually an egg and cheddar mix, is surprisingly delicious. And, of course, the whole thing comes with a slice of American cheese melted inside.

While you certainly wouldn’t want to try to live off these sandwiches — they lack veggie content, after all — each one only has 150 calories (80 from fat). This means they’re low enough in calories that you can easily justify the snack, or even eating two for a quick breakfast. You should be warned, however, that there’s sodium like crazy in these things — each has 490 mg.

The Egg and Cheese Flatbread Pocket Sandwich by Sandwich Bros. may not be a gourmet breakfast, but it’s a pretty good snack-sized option for the person on the go. In fact, we’d prefer this over most of our fast food breakfast options, plus it’s cheaper and you won’t have to deal with breakfast-rush drive-through traffic.
