Devour Sweet & Tangy Pulled Pork Review

Devour Sweet & Tangy Pulled Pork

Devour’s line of frozen food is legendary, so we couldn’t help ourselves when we found their Sweet & Tangy Pulled Pork at our local Target. With its promise of tender pulled pork with a side of bourbon glazed sweet potatoes, this sounds like a dish worth dining on.

As soon as the scent of the tangy mustard sauce hit our nostrils, we knew we’d found a winner. This dish smells like heaven.

And it tastes excellent. The pulled pork is meaty and full of gristle, and it comes doused in tangy mustard sauce. It’s far better than any frozen dinner version of pulled pork has any right being, and we thought it would be excellent inside a bun with a slice of cheddar cheese. It is, of course, quite good on its own.

The sweet potatoes aren’t quite as good as the pulled pork, but they’re still quite tasty The consistency is fantastic for a frozen sweet potato — it’s soft inside but has a little bit of a baked crunch to the outside. You can definitely taste the bourbon in the glaze. In fact, you’ll almost swear you start feeling a buzz from it; it’s that potent.

Unlike some of Devour’s other dishes — such as the White Cheddar Mac & Cheese with Bacon — the pulled pork has a reasonable amount of calories. At 400 calories (70 from fat) this isn’t necessarily a diet-friendly dish, but it’s not filled to the brim with calories like the dishes we mentioned above. The sodium content is still pretty high, though, at 850 mg.

Devour’s Sweet & Tangy Pulled Pork is a must-try frozen meal. Then again, we’d expect nothing less from Devour.
