When the craving hits, it’s nice to have a little bit of buffalo chicken waiting in your freezer. And that’s exactly what Good Food Made Simple’s Buffalo Style Wrap is for: keeping that craving satisfied with a snack-sized wrap that you can quickly heat up in the microwave.
Oddly, when we pulled this out of the package, it had some burn marks on the shell.
We’re not sure if this wrap was pre-baked, or if that was some sort of factory defect. We’re adventurous here at Freezer Meal Frenzy, so we decided to eat it anyway.
Of course, we decided to toss this in the oven instead of following the microwave directions on the packaging. We preheated to 375 degrees fahrenheit, wrapped it up in tinfoil, and baked it on a cookie sheet for about 45 minutes, flipping it over at about the halfway point. When it comes to frozen burritos and the like, this has been a Freezer Meal Frenzy staff favorite cooking method for quite a while now. Keep in mind that after 45 minutes, it will be extra crispy and especially hot. You could probably get away with 35 or even 30 minutes if you don’t want a crispy shell.
Any buffalo chicken wrap will live or die by the quality of its buffalo sauce, and this sauce is amazing. It’s not spicy — not even moderately — but it has a great flavor. It’s made even better with the addition of bleu cheese, as well as faint hints of mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
There are even some veggies in here, with russet potatoes and corn to complement the chicken, which is pretty scarce in this wrap.
This is definitely a snack wrap, as it probably won’t fill you up. At 350 calories (110 from fat), eating two at a time might be a bit of a gamble. Thankfully, nothing goes better with a hot buffalo chicken wrap than a nice cool salad.
