Lean Cuisine Thin Crust Margherita Pizza Review

Lean Cuisine Thin Crust Margherita Pizza

The Freezer Meal Frenzy staff loves Lean Cuisine pasta, but what about their pizza? While we’ve sampled a few Lean Cuisine pizza dishes, we didn’t know what to expect from their Thin Crust Margherita Pizza. Now that we’ve tried it, we’re willing to admit that Lean Cuisine has a knack for Italian food. Although this isn’t our favorite pizza, there’s a lot to love about this protein-rich dish.

Lean Cuisine includes heating trays with their pizzas, which means it’s easy to heat them up in the microwave. Of course, the trays offer more than convenience — they ensure that their pizza crust cooks perfectly every time. The thin crust of this pizza is phenomenal. It tastes very fresh and has the perfect amount of crunch to it.

Unlike other low-calorie pizzas we’ve tried, this definitely tastes like a “light” dish. It’s hard to taste the tomato sauce, and the reduced-fat mozzarella isn’t particularly rich or creamy. While a lot of pizzas are overloaded with flavor, this dish is a little bit plain.

Still, this isn’t a bad pizza at all. As we already mentioned, the crust is absolutely delicious; we thought it was the best part of the entire dish. The big chunks of tomato are also a nice addition. The tomato tastes like it’s freshly sliced. We also really liked the onion and garlic, which gave the pizza a much-needed burst of flavor.

If you’ve had bad experiences with microwave pizza in the past, you should give it another try. From Digornio┬áto Lean Cusine, several frozen food manufacturers are proving that you can make a tasty pizza in the microwave. If you’re looking for a light, healthy pizza that you can enjoy at work, this dish might be right up your alley.
