Kashi is quickly becoming one of our go-to brands for frozen meals. We love their high-quality ingredients and their unusual-yet-tasty meals. Even so, the Sweet Potato Quinoa Bowl might be our favorite Kashi meal so far. We were expecting a delicious meal, and Kashi didn’t let us down.

Obviously, the standout here is the sweet potato. It’s juicy, soft, and perfectly seasoned. The potatoes aren’t really savory or sweet; they’re a combination of the two flavors. There’s a generous serving of sweet potato in this bowl, but we still would have welcomed a few more bites.

Of course, the sweet potatoes aren’t the only thing to enjoy here. While microwaved kale often has a slimy texture, the kale in this bowl tastes fantastic. The bowl contains a few poblano peppers, which add some spice to the dish, and the mix of brown rice and quinoa is really appealing. We recommend stirring the bowl thoroughly before eating; the spices and soy sauce make some of the blander ingredients shine.

Like other Kashi dishes, this is a light meal. Although it’s low in calories, we found it to be somewhat filling, but not enough for it to be the main meal of the day. If you’re planning on eating a larger meal later on, this fresh and delicious dish should help to tide you over.
