Our reviewers typically trust each other to write well-informed, accurate frozen food reviews. But the Cheese Ravioli with Sun-Dried Tomato Cream Sauce by Devour has been a point of contention in the office for a while now. See, our reviewer who typically handles Devour frozen food passed this ravioli review to another staffer, and ever since has been arguing over the quality of this meal. So we decided to give that person a chance to chime in.
So yes, this is our second review for Devour’s Cheese Ravioli with Sun-Dried Tomato Cream Sauce.
This time, we went in with some reservations, due to the previous reviewer’s misgivings, and we had a much better experience. That said, we agree that this isn’t the best item in Devour’s typically delicious lineup (that honer probably goes to the Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese).
Our companion’s complaints about the sauce weren’t completely wrong, as the sauce is probably the worst part of this meal. The general sun-dried tomato taste is fine, but there is a sort-of-burt undertone that really detracts from the tastier parts of the sauce. We do have to point out, however, that our second attempt with this meal saw a much chunkier sauce that seemed quite a bit less watery than our previous one.
The ravioli filling is pretty much perfect. It’s an amazing blend of aged parmesan and ricotta that has a lovely texture and a great taste. The shells are mostly good, though we had a few that seemed a bit too hard and dry.
All in all, Devour’s Cheese Ravioli with Sun-Dried Tomato Cream Sauce isn’t as good as we’d hoped, but it’s good enough that we’re glad we gave it a second go. This won’t be our go-to Devour meal by any means, but we didn’t find it to be all that bad. Just keep in mind, however, that our opinions on this meal are incredibly mixed, so we’re not comfortable guaranteeing that you’ll like it.
