Amy’s Light & Lean Mattar Paneer Review

Amy's Light & Lean Mattar Paneer

Amy’s Kitchen offers several varieties of Mattar Paneer. We’ve already tried the standard version of the dish, and we’ve sampled the low sodium version as well. We figured it was high time we reviewed the lighter take on this: Amy’s Light & Lean Mattar Paneer.

If you’ve had any of Amy’s Mattar Paneer dishes, this meal should be fairly familiar to you. The meal is divided up into sections. There’s some plain basmati rice, organic peas with chunks of paneer cheese, and a spicy serving of chana masala.

While the chana masala looks brown and mushy in the picture below, we found it to be fairly appetizing. It doesn’t have the big chunks of chickpea that other versions of this dish have, but it does contain organic mung dal beans.

The turmeric and ginger give this part of the dish plenty of flavor. As is the case with other versions of this meal, we found the organic peas to be a bit mushy. However, the rich, creamy chunks of paneer cheese buried beneath the peas make this portion of the dish a lot easier to swallow.

If we had to choose between the three versions of Amy’s Mattar Paneer that we’ve sampled, we’d opt for the low-sodium version. It’s less salty than the other dishes, but it’s just as flavorful. That said, if you’re looking to cut calories from your diet, Amy’s Light & Lean Mattar Paneer is a terrific option. This is a full meal that clocks in at just 260 calories; it’s hard to top that.
