Lean Cuisine Linguine with Ricotta & Spinach Meatless Meatballs Review

Lean Cuisine Linguine with Ricotta & Spinach Meatless Meatballs

Recently, we’ve had the chance to sample several dishes in Lean Cuisine’s new Origins line. We had a lot of questions about this product line, so we went to their website to get answers straight from the source. Apparently, the Origins line is focused on meatless means that use organic and GMO-free ingredients.

During all that research, we also learned that the top-rated meal in the line was the Lean Cuisine Linguine with Ricotta & Spinach Meatless Meatballs. After seeing the rave reviews, we knew we had to check this meal out.

This meal definitely isn’t impressive from a visual standpoint. The sauce is a bit thin, which causes it to sink to the bottom of the tray, and the meatless meatballs are so soft that they started to crumble as soon as we have the dish a stir. Thankfully, even though this meal isn’t a looker, it’s an extremely tasty dish.

The faux meatballs don’t resemble the real thing at all, and we don’t think that’s a bad thing. Made with ricotta cheese and spinach, these balls are soft and very creamy. We love the idea of replacing meatballs with balls of cheese; it’s something we’ll probably experiment with when we cook at home. Even though these balls start to crumble as soon as they touch a fork, they’re a pleasure to eat.

The linguine looks soft in the image above, but it actually had a nice al dente texture to it. Even though we wish the sauce was a little bit thicker, this portion of the dish was very tasty. We loved the red and yellow bell peppers that were mixed in with the pasta. They added more flavor to a fairly basic tomato sauce.

After trying the Lean Cuisine Linguine with Ricotta & Spinach Meatless Meatballs, we can see why it has so many positive reviews. This is another great pasta dish from Lean Cuisine, and the unique faux meatballs really make this meal stand out. We don’t love every dish in the Origins line, but this is a meal we’d happily eat again and again.
