Lean Cuisine Broccoli Cheddar Rotini Review

Lean Cuisine Broccoli Cheddar Rotini

Here at Freezer Meal Frenzy, we’re always on the lookout for unusual flavor combinations or new twists on an old classic. Still, there are times when we just want to chow down on something simple. The Lean Cuisine Broccoli Cheddar Rotini isn’t an adventurous meal by any means, but it’s still very appealing.

Like most of Lean Cuisine’s frozen meals, this cheddar dish was a cinch to prepare. It’s a great choice for a short lunch break. As you can see in the image below, the cheddar cheese sauce is a bit thin when the dish comes out of the microwave. Thankfully, it only took a few minutes for the sauce to thicken up.

This dish isn’t reinventing the wheel; it’s really just a basic broccoli mac and cheese. That said, all of the ingredients really work well here. The broccoli tastes very fresh. Even though it’s cooked, it still has plenty of crunch. The rotini noodles soak up the cheddar sauce nicely, and that sauce has a delicious creamy flavor.

Since this dish is so basic, it can easily be spiced up as needed. If you think it’s bland, some fresh ground pepper should do the trick. If you want a meal that’s a little more substantial, you could add in other veggies that you have around the house. However, the pasta is more than good enough to eat on its own.

The Lean Cuisine Broccoli Cheddar Rotini isn’t going to blow anyone away, but not every frozen meal needs to set the world on fire. If you’re looking for a nice, basic, low-calorie lunch, you really can’t go wrong with this dish. It’s easy, it’s tasty, and it’s nutrient-dense. It’s a great meal to have in your frozen lunch rotation.
