Amy’s Meals For Two – Pesto Penne Review

Amy's Meals For Two - Pesto Penne

When Freezer Meal Frenzy reviewed Amy’s Pesto Penne Pasta with Vegetables Bowl, we said that there was “never a bland bite.” When we saw the new, larger Amy’s Meals For Two – Pesto Penne, we were eager to see if it was as delicious as the smaller version.

Some of Amy’s Meals For Two don’t contain a true double portion. This dish, however, gives you two full servings of pesto pasta. In addition to providing plenty of food, the meal is a breeze to prepare on the stovetop. As the packaging promises, it’s ready in 10 minutes, and you don’t have to do much more than stir.

Just like the pesto bowl, this pasta is packed full of fresh-tasking, high-quality vegetables. However, there are a few key differences that we noticed. Our bag of pasta was a little light on red peppers, which were one of our favorite ingredients in the smaller meal. To make up for that, the meal included tons of crisp, well-seasoned broccoli. We prefer peppers, but it’s hard to complain about any vegetables that taste this great!

We also found the pesto to be a little bit milder, which means it could be an appealing option for people that don’t love the taste of basil. We suspect that this slight change in flavor has to do with the cooking method. Prolonged exposure to heat changes the flavor composition of pesto,  which is why most experts recommend that you don’t heat it at all. This definitely isn’t perfect authentic pesto, but that doesn’t make it any less tasty.

If you loved the smaller version of this pesto dish, Amy’s Meals For Two – Pesto Penne is a must-try. It offers all of the appeal of the original dish, and it could easily feed two people. If you love pesto, pasta, and easy dinners, it’s hard to say no to a meal like this one!
