Trader Joe’s Cauliflower Gratin Review

Trader Joe's Cauliflower Gratin

While we’ve tried plenty of delicious meals at Freezer Meal Frenzy, there are few meals that can compare to the Trader Joe’s Broccoli and Cauliflower Gratin. The creamy, cheesy meal was absolutely amazing; we’ve caught ourselves daydreaming about eating it again.

So we hoped that Trader Joe’s Cauliflower Gratin could serve as a worthy alternative to one of our new favorite dishes. At first glance, it’s a somewhat similar dish minus the broccoli.

Yet unlike the Broccoli and Cauliflower Gratin, this meal is refrigerated rather than frozen. While that means you’ll need to eat this dish sooner rather than later, it also means that the dish can be heated quickly. We opted to cook it in the oven, and we had a perfectly roasted meal in about 20 minutes.

Even though we keep wanting to compare this to the Broccoli and Cauliflower Gratin, the two dishes are very different. This feels more like a side dish than a meal; it’d be a great compliment to any meaty entree. Although this dish is loaded with cheese, the breadcrumbs give a texture that feels crispy rather than creamy.

In addition to the Parmesan bread crumbs, the cauliflower is seasoned with a blend of black and white pepper. There’s also a hint of parsley and onion, giving this dish an appealing savory flavor. It combines nicely with the cream and formaggio cheese, making for an unusual but very tasty dish.

Trader Joe’s Cauliflower Gratin isn’t that similar to their Broccoli and Cauliflower Gratin, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t excellent. If you’re looking for a unique and appealing vegetable side to serve at your next meal, see if you can spot this dish in the refrigerator at your local Trader Joe’s.
