Supreme pizzas are typically loaded with ingredients like sausage, mushrooms, cheese, and peppers, which are all great fillings to have in a wrap. In theory, Amy’s Italian Supreme Pizza Wrap should be even better than a traditional supreme pizza. After all, it’s vegetarian-friendly! In practice, however, it’s a frozen dish we’d prefer to avoid.
Cooking this wrap should have been simple. It only requires about a minute in the microwave. As you can see, however, our wrap wound up being a bit of a disaster. By the time we took our plate out of the microwave, ingredients were oozing everywhere. Normally, we eat wraps with our hands, but this is something you’ll want to eat with a fork.
Unfortunately, we can’t say that this wrap was good enough to justify all of the mess. There are a lot of ingredients we like here, like tofu, bell peppers, mushrooms, and mozzarella cheese, but we’re not crazy about how everything pairs together. This feels like the kind of wrap you’d make if you were trying to get rid of all the leftover ingredients in your refrigerator. We’re all for kitchen experimentation, but we’d rather keep tastier wraps in our freezer.
Any dish like this is going to live and die based on the tomato sauce, and the organic marinara used here just isn’t that impressive. We’ve really enjoyed Amy’s marinara sauce in the past, but this sauce is bland and acidic, so it detracts from the better flavors here. A truly great tomato sauce might have saved this meal. As is, we’re not going to be eating it again.
Amy’s makes some delicious wraps, but Amy’s Italian Supreme Pizza Wrap isn’t one of them. If you’re really in the mood for pizza, we’d suggest trying one of Amy’s frozen pizzas instead. This wrap won’t satisfy your cravings, and it will probably leave you with a messy microwave to boot.
