Good Food Made Simple Turkey Sausage Flatbread Breakfast Sandwiches Review

Good Food Made Simple Turkey Sausage Flatbread Breakfast Sandwiches

We do love ourselves a good breakfast sandwich now and again, so when we discovered the Good Food Made Simple Turkey Sausage Flatbread Breakfast Sandwiches, we knew right away that we needed to try them. After all, these seemed like a great way to get our morning off to a fantastic start.

We already tried the vegetarian version of these sandwiches — the Power Veggies Flatbread Breakfast Sandwiches — and we thought they were pretty good. But our carnivorous staffers wanted to try something a bit meatier. These are loaded up with turkey sausage, so we thought they’d be perfect.

These sandwiches are easy enough to cook — simply wrap one in a paper towel and pop it into the microwave for a minute. Now, we ended up giving our sandwich an extra 30 seconds to get it warm in the center, but keep in mind that overcooking will cause the flatbread to become tough and difficult to chew through. You can also cook one of these in a toaster oven if you’d like, but that will take you more than 20 minutes. (If you want to see the full cooking instructions, check out our package scans at the bottom of this article.)

Our one complaint about these sandwiches is that the filling ends up a little bit watery, as you can see in the image above. This definitely undermines the deliciousness of these, as it’s no fun to bite into a soggy sandwich.

However, if you can get past the wet consistency of the filling, you’re in for a real treat. The turkey sausage is especially good. It’s perhaps a little too chewy, but the flavor is great, and there’s even a subtle peppery spice to it. Then there are potatoes to make each sandwich a little heartier, and organic green peppers for a crisp, southwestern flavor.

The egg content here is scrambled egg whites from cage-free eggs. The box promises that these eggs come from hens that are “uncaged inside barns.” The egg whites don’t add a whole lot in terms of flavor, but they do add to the overall breakfast-y vibe of these sandwiches.

Each sandwich contains 230 calories and 570 mg of sodium, but the box also lists the “per container” nutrition contents, anticipating that many people will eat a full box in a sitting. Since each box contains two sandwiches, that’s a fair assessment.

The Good Food Made Simple Turkey Sausage Flatbread Breakfast Sandwiches are quite good despite their sogginess. The flavor is great, and these definitely pair well with a hot cup of coffee.
