Sweet Earth Tuscan Veggie Sausage Review

Sweet Earth Tuscan Veggie Sausage

In the United States, sausage is a breakfast staple. Whether it’s molded into links or served in patty form, you can find sausage at virtually every diner in America. If you’re craving sausage, but are looking for a plant-based option, the Tuscan Veggie Sausage by Sweet Earth might do the trick.

You can cook these veggie patties in a skillet, but we went for the faster option and heated them in the microwave. The package instructions left our sausages slightly cold, so we cooked them for an additional 30 seconds. We suspect that the stovetop instructions would yield better-tasting patties, but you can’t beat the convenience of a minute in the microwave.

As you might be able to tell from the image above, these sausages are on the dry side. In fact, they’re so dry that it’s hard to eat them without a glass of water on hand. Because of this, we’d strongly recommend pairing them with ketchup or some sort of sauce. They’d taste terrific with hot sauce or some salsa. You could even crumble up the sausage and toss it into a scramble!

These faux sausages smell fantastic, but the taste is only okay. They’re flavored with natural hickory smoke, and that gives them a smoky flavor that borders on overpowering. Again, this is something that can be remedied with the right sauce, but there are better-tasting meatless sausages on the market. Even though this is just so-so in the flavor department, it’s loaded with healthy ingredients like bell peppers, kale, and chia seeds, making this a very nutritious choice.

If you’re looking for a delicious meat-free sausage, you’ll find tastier options in your freezer aisle. If you’re looking for a faux sausage that’s loaded with healthy ingredients, however, the Sweet Earth Tuscan Veggie Sausage is a good bet. It’s loaded with protein and nutrients, making it a solid way to start off your day.
