Archer Farms Four Cheese Gnocchi Review

Archer Farms Four Cheese Gnocchi

The Freezer Meal Frenzy staffers are suckers for simple carbohydrates. We’ll gladly down a big old bowl of pasta or dumplings. Combine that with cheese, like with Archer Farms Four Cheese Gnocchi, and you’ve got a dish that’s downright irresistible.

Even though the meal comes with microwave instructions, we opted to cook it on the stovetop. It only took seven minutes and we didn’t have to do much more than give the dish the occasional stir. It’s definitely the method we’d recommend.

The creamy cheese sauce doesn’t quite taste homemade — it’s slightly reminiscent of Velveeta — but it’s still pretty tasty. Because of the little grooves in the gnocchi, each dumpling soaks up plenty of cheese sauce. There’s really not a lot going on in this dish, but what’s here tastes really good.

That said, if you’re an adventurous eater, you might want to do something to kick this dish up a notch. We spiced things up by adding copious amounts of black pepper, but we also think it’d be fantastic with freshly cooked spinach and some roasted red peppers. Look at the ingredients in your kitchen and think about what you might want to add.

This isn’t the best frozen gnocchi we’ve tried — that crown still belongs to Trader Joe’s — but Archer Farms Four Cheese Gnocchi is still delicious. If you’re craving cheese and carbs, and you’re also looking for a quick and easy dinner, see if you can spot this meal in the freezer aisle at your local Target.
