Unless you’re avoiding potatoes, we think it’s always smart to have a bag of frozen fries in your fridge! They’re the perfect complement to a sandwich, a burger, or even your favorite chicken nuggets. We’re always on the lookout for new frozen fries, which is why we were excited to try the Alexia Organic Oven Crinkles with Sea Salt.
If you want to cook an entire bag at once, it’s going to take you upwards of 30 minutes — which seems kind of long to us! Thankfully, since we opted to cook up half the bag, our fries were crispy and ready to eat in 20 minutes. No matter how many fries you cook, you’ll have to take them out of the oven and give them a stir at the halfway point.
Our fries were crispy and browned on the outside, but they were still perfectly soft on the inside. Alexia’s fries always taste like they were made with real potatoes, and that’s a quality that we appreciate. They’re also reasonably healthy, at least by french fry standards. A serving, which is one-fifth of a bag, has zero trans fats and just 120 calories.
Even though these fries are seasoned with sea salt, they’re probably not flavorful enough to eat plain. While you could add some seasoning, we’d suggest pairing the fries with your favorite dipping sauce. The ridges make it easy to scrape up plenty of sauce on each fry. We paired these with barbecue sauce, but we’re confident they’d taste great with ketchup as well.
Alexia Organic Oven Crinkles with Sea Salt are a great option if you’re looking for healthier frozen fries, especially if you’re a fan of the crinkle cut. They’re not bursting with flavor, and they might take a while to cook, but these are enjoyable fries that are made from natural ingredients. If you keep a bag of these fries in your freezer, you’ll have something to combat that crinkle fry craving whenever it hits!
