Archer Farms Greek-Inspired Spinach & Feta Cheese Traditional Crust Pizza Review

Archer Farms Greek-Inspired Spinach & Feta Cheese Traditional Crust Pizza

Who doesn’t love a good frozen pizza?

As reviewers for Freezer Meal Frenzy, part of the job is that we must try many different takes on frozen pizza. This is a task we partake in with much enthusiasm, as there are few things that make us happier than reviewing a frozen pizza. So today, we are quite thrilled to be tasked with reviewing the Archer Farms Greek-Inspired Spinach & Feta Cheese Traditional Crust Pizza.

Archer Farms, in case you haven’t heard of it, is a proprietary brand of Target. That means if you’re interested for trying one of these pizzas for yourself, you should be able to find one in the freezer aisle at your nearest Target store.

So let’s dig in!

Archer Farms Greek-Inspired Spinach & Feta Cheese Traditional Crust Pizza

First off, let’s talk about this crust. We followed the cooking instructions and heated this pizza directly on the oven rack, and we ended up cooking it for about 15 minutes, which is toward the higher end of the box’s 13-16 minutes estimate. Our crust ended up especially crispy, which surprised us because it looks like a thicker crust around the edges. This is definitely one that has a good crunch when you bite into it, and the outer crust is even a bit crackery.

On this pizza is a glaze of garlic and olive oil, topped with cherry tomatoes and black olives. Then there’s a bit of feta to really drive home the Greek inspiration of this pizza. There’s also spinach, of course, but it doesn’t overwhelm the flavor profile here, as spinach tends to do when it’s not used sparingly.

In case you can’t tell already, we really like this pizza. The combination of garlic and feta cheese is lovely here, and the sweetness of the tomatoes adds a contrast that really makes this stand out. This is a truly craveable pizza.

The box considers 1/3 of a pizza to be a serving. We’re not sure who divides a pizza into thirds (or sixths), so this is a bit odd to us, though it’s not uncommon in the world of frozen pizza. We’re just not sure who started this practice, or why it’s become the rule rather than the exception.

Anyway, a third of this pizza contains 320 calories (100 from fat) and 820 mg of sodium. So if you do the math, half a pizza — which we think is a more reasonable serving size — contains 480 calories (150 from fat) and 1,230 mg of sodium. While that might seem like bad news for dieters, it’s actually pretty reasonable when compared with something like Devour’s “The Carnivore” pizza, which contains almost 2,000 calories per pie.

The Archer Farms Greek-Inspired Spinach & Feta Cheese Traditional Crust Pizza is a delicious pizza that wears its mediterranean influences on its sleeve. While the crust might be a little too crispy for some — no us; we really enjoyed it — the toppings are a treat to behold. If you’re wondering if you should make the trek out to Target to try one of these, we think you definitely should.
