Devour Double Chicken Creamy Alfredo Ravioli Review

Devour Double Chicken Creamy Alfredo Ravioli

We love Devour’s frozen meals so much that sometimes we even review them twice. So whenever we stumble upon a Devour meal that we haven’t tried yet, it’s cause for celebration in the Freezer Meal Frenzy office. So you can bet your booties that we felt like celebrating when we found the Devour Double Chicken Creamy Alfredo Ravioli!

This is a hearty pasta dish (though it’s not quite as big as it looks on the box), so we were surprised to see that the cook time is relatively short. This takes a total of four minutes in a 1100-watt microwave. We were expecting about six minutes, so that’s great! (If you want to see the full cooking instructions, check out our package scans at the bottom of this article.)

So, what is the “Double Chicken” that the title is referring to? This meal has chicken inside the ravioli, and then it has chunks of breaded chicken added in. That’s a double dose of chicken for people who can’t get enough of those tasty cluckers.

The ravioli filling is really yummy. It’s a blend of ricotta cheese and white meat chicken, and it’s surprisingly rich in flavor. On top of the chicken that’s already inside the ravioli, the breaded chicken makes for a great addition to this already-craveable meal. It gets a little soggy due to the alfredo sauce, but the flavor is delicious.

The sauce is a bit runnier than we were expecting. The box calls it creamy, but we think it’s just too thin and watery for us to feel comfortable using that term. It tastes just fine; we just wish it were a bit thicker.

There are roasted red peppers mixed in, but we actually would have preferred this dish without them. We love roasted red peppers normally, but we just don’t think they have quite the right flavor profile for this dish.

Unfortunately, Devour isn’t known for making diet-friendly dinners. This one contains 470 calories (170 from fat) and 1,090 mg of sodium. That means it’s pretty average for a Devour meal, but pretty high in calories for a frozen meal in general. It’s also not as filling as we expected it to be. We were still a little hungry when we finished eating our ravioli.

The Devour Double Chicken Creamy Alfredo Ravioli isn’t one of Devour’s best meals, but it’s still pretty good. In fact, it’s a cut above a lot of competitors’ ravioli dishes, such as the Smart Ones Ravioli Florentine or the Lean Cuisine Ricotta Cheese & Spinach Ravioli.
