None of the Freezer Meal Frenzy staffers are living the “gluten-free lifestyle,” but we are occasionally concerned about our carb intake. We love rice, pasta, pizza, and virtually anything else that’s packed with carbs. That’s why we’re always happy to try low carb frozen meals like the Life Cuisine Cauliflower Crust Three Cheese Pizza (by Lean Cuisine).
If you’ve made a Lean Cuisine pizza before, you’re probably familiar with the cooking process for this dish. If this is your first rodeo, you’ll want to make sure that you read the instructions closely before you toss this in the microwave. The box converts into a crisping tray that is used to cook the pizza perfectly. If you don’t feel like folding a box, you can also toss this in the oven for 14 minutes.
We were surprised by how much we enjoyed this personal pizza. Aside from the cauliflower crust, this isn’t anything fancy; it’s a pretty basic microwavable pizza. Still, we found that all of the flavors really come together in a satisfying way. There’s plenty of cheese, and we love the taste of the sauce. The crispy bits are especially tasty; we think this would be delicious if it were heated in the oven.
This isn’t even close to a perfect imitation of a real pizza crust. The crust is a little on the tough side, though we didn’t find it difficult to chew. It also has a strong and distinctive cauliflower flavor. We don’t mind the flavor. In fact, we think the cauliflower compliments the cheese and tomato sauce nicely. However, if you’re picky about pizza crusts, this microwave pizza might not work for you.
The Life Cuisine Cauliflower Crust Three Cheese Pizza is pretty darn tasty, even if you have no carb concerns. It’s definitely not a dish for people that hate cauliflower, but we really enjoy this cheesy pizza. Pizza lovers that are avoiding gluten should definitely give this product a try.
