Evol’s Veggie Fajita Burrito definitely seems promising. While there are lots of vegetarian burritos on the market, vegan burritos are a bit rarer.
This particular dish contains plenty of organic ingredients, is made with a whole wheat tortilla, and even comes with a side of guacamole. It’s hard not to be exciting about something like that.
Unfortunately, the burrito is a massive disappointment. The guacamole it comes with tastes pretty mediocre; it doesn’t come close to mimicking the taste of fresh-made guacamole. The burrito tastes bland without the guacamole, but it tastes even worse with it.
The texture of the tortilla is unpleasant. It’s slightly chewy and a little bit dry. While there’s a bland sauce inside of the burrito, there isn’t enough sauce to soften up the tortilla. Unless you’re absolutely ravenous, you probably won’t wind up finishing a burrito like this.
If you’re craving a burrito with guacamole, you should buy a better frozen burrito and serve some of your own guacamole on the side. This dish seemed appealing, but nothing about it works. Evol makes a lot of delicious burritos (the Sriracha Chicken Big Burrito is a favorite among Freezer Meal Frenzy’s non-vegetarian staffers), but this isn’t one of them.
