Amy’s Country Cheddar Bowl is a dish we’ve been wanting to try for a while. We love comfort food, and we also love the healthy, nutrient-rich ingredients that Amy’s Kitchen uses. This frozen dinner wasn’t quite what we expected, but it is worth trying nonetheless.

While the bell peppers and broccoli stand out on the box, tofu is what dominates the actual meal. Although tofu is an excellent source of calcium and protein, the dish probably would have been better off without it, since it doesn’t pair well with the creamy cheddar cheese sauce.

That said, the other ingredients are excellent. We especially liked the inclusion of the organic potatoes; they give this vegetarian freezer meal a meatier flavor. The bell peppers are delicious, and the carrots have the perfect amount of crunch. We also love the organic pasta; Amy’s usually hits it out of the park with their pasta, and this is no exception!

If you’re a fan of Amy’s Bowls, this is a microwave dinner you’ll want to try. It’s far from perfect, but it’s a great choice for a fast, low-calorie meal. If you don’t mind the big chunks of tofu, that is.
