Good Food Made Simple Lasagna Bolognese Review

Good Food Made Simple Lasagna Bolognese

At Freezer Meal Frenzy, we’re fans of a good frozen lasagna. While those tend to be few and far between, Good Food Made Simple’s Lasagna Bolognese is a surprisingly good dish.

The lasagna on the package looks magnificent, but the lasagna inside the package won’t come out looking quite that picturesque. In fact, it comes out of the microwave looking a little soupy.

It does thicken up, but not entirely. It’s a little more watery than we’d like, but thankfully, this is the dish’s one flaw.

Otherwise, the sauce tastes great. It has just a little bit of sweetness to it, which is something we tend to enjoy in our pasta dishes. It’s topped with provolone instead of mozzarella, which is an interesting choice, but one that pays off. It complements the sauce quite well.

The real surprise, though, is how generous Good Food Made Simple was with their ricotta cheese. There is a whole layer of this pasta reserved for it, and that means you’ll get some ricotta in every single bite. Even if you decide to lap up the remaining sauce once the pasta is all gone, you’ll get a decent helping of the stuff right up to the very end.

We’ve had some bad frozen lasagna dishes in our day, but Good Food Made Simple’s is one of the good ones.
