It’s no secret that we’re fans of Amy’s Kitchen. While a few of their dishes are subpar, most of their frozen meals are mouthwatering.
Our staff also loves a good lasagna, especially when it’s slathered in béchamel sauce. Amy’s Kitchen makes their own béchamel, and their take on this classic white sauce is pretty darn tasty. Add in a healthy helping of ricotta cheese and spinach, and you’ve got yourself a tasty meal.
If you check out the images below, you’ll see that dish is a little on the messy side. You might want to avoid taking this particular meal to work; it’s not a great dish to eat at your desk. Like a traditional lasagna, this microwave dinner is best consumed with a knife and a fork.
If you’re planning on eating at home, however, you’ll be impressed. Amy’s uses organic whole durum flour when they make their pasta, and you can really taste the difference here. It’s a notch above other microwave lasagnas we’ve tried.
Béchamel sauce is very creamy, which means it contains a fair amount of calories and fat. At 390 calories, this frozen meal won’t destroy your diet, but it may not help you stick to it. You should take a look at the label before adding this dish to your freezer. If you’re okay with the mess and the calorie count, then Amy’s Spinach Béchamel Lasagna is definitely worth trying.
