Lean Cuisine Fajita-Style Chicken Spring Rolls Review

Lean Cuisine Fajita-Style Chicken Spring Rolls

Lean Cuisine’s spring rolls seem to be quite popular. When there’s a big sale at our local grocery store, it’s not uncommon to find an empty shelf where the spring rolls normally go. We did manage to get our hands on the Fajita-Style Chicken Spring Rolls, but we had to stop at two different stores before we found some in stock.

Now, one of the nice things about these spring rolls is that they’re sold two servings per box. We don’t blame you for eating the whole box at once, but if you just want a snack, there are cooking instructions and individual microwave sleeves for two separate servings.

The microwavable sleeve works pretty well to keep the rolls on the ends nice and crispy, but the center roll has a tendency to be a bit soggier than the other two. The soggier roll still tastes great, but the consistency of the outer rolls is better.

Before you bite into your first roll, you might be expecting an Asian-inspired flavor, but the second you pop one into your mouth, you’ll be in for a Southwestern style treat.

While the appearance of the ends of these puppies makes it look like they might be stuffed with some sort of chicken sausage, These spring rolls are filled with white meat chicken, corn, onions, red bell peppers, and black beans. These almost taste more like skinny little burritos than spring rolls. In fact, if you swapped the crispy shell for a tortilla, these would pretty much be burritos.

When you’re looking at the nutrition info, keep in mind that there are two servings in the box. While 240 calories (70 from fat) isn’t bad for a frozen food, that only covers a half box. If you eat the whole thing, double that to 480 (140 from fat).

Lean Cuisine’s Fajita-Style Chicken Spring Rolls make for a great snack. We’re also fans of the Thai-Style Chicken Spring Rolls, so try those if you like the Fajita version but are in the mood for something that tastes closer to a more traditional spring roll.
