Are you the kind of person who’s always in a rush? If so, then you’re exactly who Sandwich Brothers of Wisconsin are trying to reach with their line of frozen flatbread sandwiches. These mini half-moon sandwiches heat up in under a minute and make an excellent snack. Or, at least that’s what the package says.
We picked up a box of the Sausage & Cheese Flatbread Pocket Sandwiches to test them out ourselves.
We’re told the sausage here is all-natural Jones pork sausage patty. Since Jones Dairy Farm is also located in Wisconsin, the team-up of these two companies seems like a pretty natural fit. It’s a pretty tasty one too. This sausage has a great flavor to it, with just a touch of spice for some kick.
Like the other Sandwich Bros. sandwiches we’ve tried, these ones heat nicely in the microwave. The flatbread maintains its integrity, and the cheese gets nice and melty.
As the package says, you can eat these plain or add some toppings to enhance them. If you throw some ketchup on them, they make a nice lunch, almost like mini cheeseburgers in a way. However, if you want to keep the breakfast theme, a little bit of syrup would give these a great touch of early-morning sweetness.
We find ourselves enjoying the Sandwich Bros Sausage & Cheese Flatbread Pocket Sandwiches quite a bit. In fact, it’s been hard to ever eat just one, and since they come in packages of six, the temptation to grab a second one is just too much to bear.
The Egg & Cheese version is pretty good too, and those are vegetarian-friendly.
