Healthy Choice Korean-Inspired Beef Bowl Review

Healthy Choice Korean-Inspired Beef Bowl

Healthy Choice really knows how to get things done. We’ve been enjoying their dishes for a little bit now, and our vegetarian staffers were especially fond of the Creamy Spinach & Tomato Linguine. So with confidence, we decided to work our way into the Power Bowls line, starting with the Korean-Inspired Beef Bowl. We’re big fans of Korean food here at Freezer Meal Frenzy, but decent Korean-inspired frozen meals tend to be few and far between. So how does Healthy Choice’s take taste?

First off, the beef chunks are fantastic. They’re rich, juicy, and flavorful, and there are plenty in this dish. Healthy Choice certainly doesn’t skimp out on the meat.

We also admire the decision to mix quinoa into the brown and red rice. It lends a lean and clean feel to the dish, rather than leaving it overly starchy.

Beyond that, there’s a little bit of everything in this dish — bamboo shoots, carrots, mushrooms, kale, barley, spinach and more. And the whole thing is covered in a tangy yet spicy Korean sauce. In fact, this dish is way spicier than we would have guessed, so if you love spicy food, you’ll really enjoy this. In fact, our only real complaint about this dish is that it could have used a little more sauce. What we got was delicious, but it would have been better if we could have soaked that beef in the incredible sauce.

At only 290 calories, this dish probably won’t throw your healthy diet off track, so that’s a real boon for the health-conscious.

The bottom line is that Healthy Choice’s Korean-Inspired Beef Bowl is a great way to satisfy that craving for Korean food without having to stop somewhere fancy.
