Lean Cuisine’s Craveables spring rolls line includes some of their better food items. We loved the Thai-Style Chicken and the Fajita-Style Chicken Spring Rolls, so we had confidence the Garlic Chicken Spring Rolls would be quite tasty.
These come six in a package, but they’re portioned out so you can have three at a time if you’d like. They even include two crisping trays, each of which holds three spring rolls.
With the other Lean Cuisine spring rolls we tried, we noticed that the ones in the middle of each three pack stay a little soggier than the ones on the edges. That’s true here too, though you’ll have to let them cool a little bit before they get crispy.
At a glance, these things look like they’re chock full of chicken. We’re not newcomers to Lean Cuisine’s spring rolls, though, so we knew better. A majority of the chicken is positioned at the ends of each spring roll as sort of a cork to keep the rest of the ingredients inside.
The filling is composed of spinach, carrots, onions, garlic, and parmesan cheese. It’s a good mix, but the best part of every roll is definitely the chicken.
If you stick with the recommended three spring rolls, you’re only looking at 210 calories (60 from fat). If you eat the full box, you’re looking at 420 (120 from fat), which really isn’t all that bad. We’ve definitely tried some dishes with fewer calories, but we’ve also tried those with almost twice this much. The sodium content is a little high, at 430 mg for every three rolls (860 mg for six).
