While there are plenty of great vegan frozen meals on the market, we weren’t sure if Amy’s Dairy Free Vegetable Pot Pie would be a hit or a miss. We’ve had the standard version of this pot pie before, and we weren’t sure that Amy’s would be able to replicate the creamy flavor of the sauce without the dairy element. Now that we’ve tried the pie, we’re happy to say that it’s fantastic! Amy’s Kitchen really hit this vegan meal out of the park.

Pot pie isn’t usually something that you can just heat up in the microwave, but this meal comes with easy-to-follow microwave directions. We found the crust to be a little bit dry, but that didn’t get in the way of our overall enjoyment of the meal. This might be slightly more appealing when heated in the oven, but it’s still great if you opt for your microwave!

The highlight is definitely the sauce. It almost tastes like a rich béchamel sauce. We’re not sure how Amy’s made it taste so creamy, but we’re glad that they did. This sauce really lets the veggies live up to their true potential.

The quality of the filling ingredients is top-notch. The potatoes taste soft and fresh, and the carrots are full of flavor. We especially like the meaty texture of the tofu. Tofu can be hard to prepare, but Amy’s always seems to get it right.

If you’re looking for quality vegan meal options, you should give this pot pie a closer look. It’s every bit as good as its non-vegan counterpart, and it would definitely make for an excellent lunch.
