While we definitely appreciate filling frozen meals, we’re not always looking something heavy. Many of our favorite microwave dinners are lighter dishes that still leave us feeling full. Kashi’s Black Bean Mango Bowl is the perfect thing to eat if you’re not in the mood for a big meal.
This bowl is fairly simple; it’s a whole grain pilaf topped with fresh fruits and vegetables. However, it’s not at all bland. The quality of ingredients is extremely high, and the zesty mango sauce that tops the dish is incredibly flavorful. We savored every last bite.
The ingredients in this dish are amazing, and the variety is great too. There’s a fantastic mix of veggies here, from red bell peppers to carrots. The beans, mango, and ginger blend together beautifully. There are a few unexpected ingredients here — the sauce actually uses apple juice — but everything works together very well.
Kashi’s frozen meals aren’t going to please everyone. If you’re looking for a massive meal or classic comfort food, these basic bowls won’t leave you satisfied. However, if you’re in the mood for something light and healthy, you’ll find a lot to love here
