DiGiorno Thin Crispy Crust Pepperoni Pizza Review

DiGiorno Thin Crispy Crust Pepperoni Pizza

So let’s be real here: We can probably keep this review for DiGiorno’s Thin Crispy Crust Pepperoni Pizza nice and short. It’s a DiGiorno frozen pizza, after all, meaning it’s a tentpole product for one of the go-to frozen pizza brands. It doesn’t pack any surprises, but it’s a very good frozen pizza.

Plus, thanks to the crisping tray built into the box, this turns out just fine when microwaved. It’s a great meal to pack in a lunch box and bring to work — or anywhere with access to microwave. We should point out that this pizza has a tendency to stick to the crisping tray a bit, and you might need a knife or a fork to remove it. So keep that in mind when you’re packing your lunch.

The main lingering question, then, is how thin and crispy is DiGirono’s “Thin Crispy Crust?” Well, it’s not really that thin, and it’s not very crispy either. We’d compare this to those rectangle pizzas you used to get back in elementary school. And it’s even square on the corners to make the comparison even more apt.

The crisping tray does prevent this from suffering from soggy-bottom syndrome, but no, this isn’t comparable to a gourmet pizza that you’d have delivered to your front door. But it’s also cheaper and comes without any delivery drivers to tip. (You should always tip your pizza delivery driver generously, we believe.)

Our pizza had six pieces of pepperoni on top, arranged in a circular pattern. This caused grease to pool up in the center upon cooking, but if that’s a problem for you, it’s nothing a quick dab of a napkin won’t fix.

You’ve probably had several DiGiorno pizzas before, so you probably already know this, but DiGiorno’s Thin Crispy Crust Pepperoni Pizza is delicious and loveable. At 570 calories (220 from fat) in a full pizza, this is a bit more calorie-loaded than many of the other frozen foods we’ve reviewed, but we think it’s worth the extra calories. It’s just a good pizza, plain and simple.
