Trader Joe’s Sweet Potato Gnocchi with Butter & Sage Review

Sweet Potato Gnocchi with Butter & Sage

Our staffers are big fans of gnocchi, a type of Italian dumpling that’s traditionally prepared with potatoes. We’re also huge fans of sweet potatoes. When we saw that Trader Joe’s had brought these two thing together for their Sweet Potato Gnocchi with Butter & Sage, we felt like our dreams had come true.

From our very first bite, we knew that this dish was going to exceed our expectations, even though those expectations were pretty darn high.

We prepared our gnocchi on the stove top, and it turned out beautifully — it was cooked to perfection, warm but still perfectly soft.

These dumplings soak up the butter sauce, giving them a rich and creamy taste. The sage lends them a velvety texture, and it cuts through the heaviness of the butter sauce.

That said, that kind of flavor definitely comes at a price. This gnocchi clocks in at 250 calories per serving, and there are three serving in a single bag. If you were to polish off an entire bag yourself, you’d be taking in 750 calories! This is definitely a meal you’re going to want to split with someone else.

If you love gnocchi as much as we do, you’ll definitely want to try Trader Joe’s Sweet Potato Gnocchi with Butter & Sage. While it isn’t the best option for people that are calorie-conscious, it is an incredibly tasty dish. We won’t tattle if you decide to cheat on your diet and treat yourself to this sweet potato delight!

I tried this dish based on this review and found it to be very underwhelming.
