Pierre Drive Thru Cheeseburger Review

Pierre Drive Thru Cheeseburger

There’s nothing quite like grilling up a beef patty and decorating it with your favorite fixings. However, sometimes you just want a quick burger without all that hassle (there’s a reason McDonald’s has been so successful for so long, after all). There’s a frozen food solution to this problem in the form of the Pierre Drive Thru Cheeseburger.

This microwavable burger gives you all the basics — the patty, the bun, and the cheese — in one package. Plus, it takes less than a minute and a half in the microwave before it’s fully cooked. Your grill wouldn’t even be warmed up yet in that short amount of time.

Now, the image on the package is a little misleading, as it shows a burger with lettuce and tomato on it. The actual burger that comes inside is simply a burger, a slice of American cheese, and a sesame seed bun. While the image on the box shows a gourmet-quality burger, what’s inside looks much closer to a fast food burger (though it’s slightly less smashed down than a double cheeseburger from McDonald’s would be). This is also smaller than we expected.

The bun survives its time in the microwave better than you might expect. The bottom does get soggy, but the rest of it stays pretty dry. It has a great flavor too, with some sweet undertones. Plus, there are sesame seeds on top, which is always a great touch.

The beef patty is out-of-this-world fantastic. It’s rich and flavorful, and it has a very strong grilled flavor. This is almost certainly the best frozen beef we’ve sampled here at Freezer Meal Frenzy.

The American cheese is there to round out the flavor, and it does its job pretty well. It’s definitely not the main event here, but it adds just the right amount of “something extra” that this sandwich needs.

This is no health food. It contains 410 calories (190 from fat) and 470 mg of sodium. That wouldn’t be too horrible for a full meal, but this burger is small enough that you could easily eat two in a sitting.

The Pierre Drive Thru Cheeseburger is smaller than we’d like, but it’s a remarkably high-quality microwavable burger. We were a bit disappointed when we first realized this lacks ketchup and mustard, but after eating it we can say with confidence that you don’t really need those things here. While you’re certainly welcome to add those things, the burger is flavorful enough that they simply aren’t necessary.

Yes he bun is way over done. It is more brown than the photo. No kid would eat it, I did but I didn’t like it. The meat was perfect!

The cheeseburgers are great to take for lunch at work. I found if I let the cheeseburgers thaw before microwaving them the roll turns out really good.
