The Freezer Meal Frenzy crew has a strange affection for faux chicken nuggets. Meaty or meatless, the chicken nugget has never been a gourmet treat. Still, they’re easy, comforting, and fun to dip in sauce. When we’re not in the mood for fancy food, nuggets are what we turn to. The 365 Everyday Value Breaded Chickenless Nuggets were a meatless treat we had to try.
In our experience, the 365 Everyday Value brand ranges from bad to mediocre. We’re not sure these nuggets have broken out of that mold. They’re perfectly edible, and they can even be enjoyable with the right dipping sauce, but there are better options for meatless nuggets on the market.
Even though these are breaded nuggets, they lack the crispiness of something like Morningstar Farms Veggie Classics Chik’n Nuggets. These nuggets are extremely soft; the breading feels like it’s barely there. While the nuggets are fairly bland, they do have a slightly bitter aftertaste that we’re not crazy about. It’s not overwhelming, and it’s not disgusting, but it does make the nuggets less appealing.
365 Everyday Value Breaded Chickenless Nuggets will do in a pinch, especially if you have a tasty sauce to dunk them in. However, if you’re looking for tasty meat-free nuggets, Boca and Morningstar Farms both have better options. We may love chicken-free nuggets, but these vegetarian-friendly nuggets are not something we can recommend to our fellow nugget fans.
