Evol Tahini Seasoned Beef and Feta Burrito Review

Evol Tahini Seasoned Beef and Feta Burrito

We have a soft spot for Evol’s frozen burritos here at Freezer Meal Frenzy. In fact, Evol’s burritos were among the first frozen foods we ever reviewed (and we really loved the Sriracha Chicken Big Burrito, mmm!) So we always get excited when Evol adds new burritos to their lineup.

Recently, we discovered the Evol Tahini Seasoned Beef and Feta Burrito, and we knew right away that we needed to try it out.

Now, we typically don’t follow the cooking instructions on the package when we heat up Evol burritos. We developed our own cooking method a long time ago. It really works for us, so we have no reason to do anything differently. If you want about that cooking method, we detailed it out in several places (including our review for the Teriyaki Chicken Burrito).

When we cooked this one, the end of the burrito broke open, and we found the inside of the aluminum foil to be coated in a layer of orange beef juice. This isn’t the worst thing in the world, but it did make this a little bit messier than we would have liked.

The flavor is very interesting. It’s the feta cheese and the tahini that stand out the most here, giving this a real Mediterranean vibe. Even though Tahini is the first word in this burrito’s title, we actually weren’t expecting it to be such a central part of this meal — we actually suspected it would be more of an undertone. We’re not complaining, mind you; we really like the way this tastes.

We have a tendency to call out Evol for their stingy meat portions, but we don’t feel the need to do that here. There’s not a ton of beef inside, but there’s more than we expected. In fact, we think there’s the perfect amount. It’s ground pretty small, but that’s not a problem for us.

And of course, all of this comes nestled in some rice with a fair serving of red bell peppers.

This burrito is kind of a calorie hog, with 350 calories (140 from fat). Since it’s not filling enough to make a standalone meal, this is a bit of a problem. In fact, we could easily eat two of these in a sitting. (It’s certainly not as filling as one of Evol’s “Big” burritos.)

The Evol Tahini Seasoned Beef and Feta Burrito is a Mediterranean treat that we think you’ll enjoy. It’s a little high in calories for an Evol burrito, but if you’re careful to eat this in moderation, there’s a lot to love.
