Red’s Turkey Sausage, Egg & Three Cheese Burrito Review

Red's Turkey Sausage, Egg & Three Cheese Burrito

We do love burritos here at Freezer Meal Frenzy. While we have our favorites, we’re always willing to give a new burrito a try. So we were pretty happy when we stumbled upon Red’s Turkey Sausage, Egg & Three Cheese Burrito at our local grocery store.

This is a little complex to cook, but trust us when we say that it’s worth it. You’ll need to unwrap the burrito, stick it onto a bowl or plate, cover it with a lid of some sort, then cook it for a minute. Now, that’s just the first part. Once you’ve done this, you’ll want to stick the burrito on a spray-coated baking sheet and toss it into the oven for 12-14 minutes at 375 degrees fahrenheit. For the perfect amount of crisp, flip it over about halfway through.

If all goes according to plan, this process should end with a great burrito sitting in front of you.

The flavor here is incredible, and that’s largely due to the three-cheese blend. Those three cheeses are pepper jack, mozzarella, and white cheddar. It’s the white cheddar that stands out the most, but you’ll probably detect just a little bit of the pepper jack’s bite.

The sausage actually comes in little balls, sort of like what you’d expect to find on a pizza. Now, this is a turkey sausage instead of a beef sausage, so it’s a little chewier than your average sausage. We found the texture to be a little too rubbery for our tastes, but the flavor is spot-on.

Then there are the eggs, which surprisingly don’t add a lot here. The sausage and cheeses are so flavorful that the egg slips through virtually undetected. As you can see in our image, there’s no shortage of egg here — it’s just not as noticeable as it might be in a less flavorful burrito.

There are 330 calories in this burrito (110 from fat), so we definitely wouldn’t call this a diet food. This isn’t very filling, so you’ll probably eat it with a side or — God help you — a second burrito! As you can see, those calories start piling up pretty fast, so be careful.

Red’s Turkey Sausage, Egg & Three Cheese Burrito is an incredible breakfast burrito. While the texture of the sausage could have been a little better, that’s a pretty small complaint — especially when the burrito tastes this good. Seriously, this thing is delicious.
