Amy’s Tuscan Bean & Rice Organic Soup Review

Amy's Tuscan Bean & Rice Organic Soup

Believe it or not, the Freezer Meal Frenzy staff doesn’t do all of our grocery shopping in the freezer aisle. Occasionally, we venture to other parts of the supermarket, we can discover products like Amy’s Tuscan Bean & Rice Organic Soup, which was made by one of our favorite frozen food brands.

(Don’t blame us! Amy’s told us to look for them in the soup aisle!)

Try Amy's Soup

If you’ve ever cooked a can of soup before, then this soup isn’t going to surprise you. The can does have a pull tab, which means you can open it up when you don’t have a can opener available. While it can be heated on the stove, we opted for fastest option and nuked it in our microwave.

As soon as we opened the microwave door, we were hit with a waft of appealing spices. Because the label says “organic spices,” we’re not quite sure what we were expecting, but the scent was definitely intoxicating. We gave the soup a minute or so to cool, then grabbed a spoon and dug in.

This is a vegan soup, but it definitely has a meaty quality to it thanks to the borlotti beans. It’s hearty and savory, but the flavor palate is still fairly simple. While we’d never describe this soup as bland, we did add a smidge of pepper to give it a little more heat. We love the way the organic rice tastes when soaked in the broth, and the cooked carrots were soft and packed with flavor.

If you’re looking for a simple and healthy soup that you can prepare in a matter of minutes, Amy’s Tuscan Bean & Rice Organic Soup is a terrific choice. It’s every bit as good as the frozen products from Amy’s Kitchen. It’s a robust soup, even though it only contains 320 calories, and it will leave you feeling full long after your bowl is clean.
