Freezer Meal Frenzy has never tried to hide our fondness for tater tots. This cafeteria staple might not be gourmet food, but it’s a tasty side dish that we enjoy from time to time. We also appreciate new spins on old classics. For all of these reasons, the Alexia Crispy Seasoned Potato Puffs caught our eye.
It takes about 20 minutes to heat these puffs in the oven. The process is easy, but we strongly recommend covering your baking sheet with aluminum foil before you cook these tots up. Some of our potato puffs stuck to the pan, and we would have wound up with a mess if we hadn’t laid some foil down!
The seasoning on these puffs isn’t anything fancy — it’s really just a blend of garlic and black pepper — but the flavor is absolutely phenomenal. These little puffs smelled amazing when we took them out of the oven, and they tasted even better when we took our first bite. These are a huge step up from your garden-variety tater tots.
Since these puffs have a strong and distinct flavor, we’d advise against dipping them in any sort of sauce. Ketchup or ranch dressing would just get in the way of the natural taste. You can pair these puffs with all kinds of foods, from burgers to sandwiches, or you can do what we did — toss them in a bowl and eat them on their own.
Whether you’re a fan of tater tots or simply appreciate potatoes, Alexia Crispy Seasoned Potato Puffs are a side dish we can strongly recommend. They smell fantastic, they taste delicious, and they’re a breeze to prepare. When it comes to frozen potatoes, Alexia really can’t be beat.
