Amy’s Greek Spanakopita Wrap Review

Amy's Greek Spanakopita Wrap

Thanks to Trader Joe’s, the Freezer Meal Frenzy staff recently had the chance to sample spankopita for the first time. We’re now big fans of this Greek dish, which is why we were thrilled to spot the new Amy’s Greek Spanakopita Wrap. A wrap filled with feta and spinach sounds like food perfection.

This wrap comes with oven instructions, but in order to save time, we decided to cook it in the microwave instead. While the instructions say to cook the wrap for one minute and thirty seconds, this left our wrap slightly cold in the middle. We nuked it for another thirty seconds, and that seemed to do the trick.

As you can see in our image below, this wrap contains healthy helpings of both spinach and feta cheese. There’s also some cottage cheese and butter in the mix, which makes the filling incredibly creamy. The feta has a great gooey texture after it’s melted, which complements the spinach nicely. Other ingredients, like zucchini and onions, give the wrap an extra burst of flavor.

The filling is definitely the highlight here, but the tortilla is actually pretty great too. Amy’s makes their tortillas with unbleached wheat flour, which gives them a natural earthy flavor that we love. Our wrap was stuffed with filling — we had spinach and cheese oozing all over our plate — but this tortilla would have been satisfying even if the filling portions were less generous.

Amy’s Greek Spanakopita Wrap might be one of our new favorite wraps. It’s delicious and filling, and it has the high ingredient quality that we expect from the Amy’s Kitchen brand. While the healthy helping of cheese and cream keeps this wrap from being vegan-friendly, it’s something that both vegetarians and meat-lovers can enjoy.

Hi, I only just discovered Amy Greek Spanakopita wraps (August 2022) but they were being phased out! I had the same experience as you did with the microwave directions. I have a super powerful microwave oven but the heating time as printed on the package was too short, which made the wrap hard to eat so next time I cooked on high for 1 minute on each side: perfect. I rushed back to the store and bought all these wraps I could find. Are they being phased out everywhere? One thing I failed to notice was that there is not a whole lot of feta (which I love) so I may just figure out how to make them myself and load them w/feta, not cottage cheese. Thank you for your comments.
