Frontera 3 Bean Taco Bowl Review

Frontera 3 Bean Taco Bowl

While we reviewed the Frontera Three Bean Taco Bowl a while back, we recently noticed that the product has gone through a few changes. Most notably, celebrity chef Rick Bayless no longer has his name featured on the box, and the word three has been replaced with the number 3. We decided to give the meal a second try to see if it was still “a meal we’d be happy to eat again.”

All of Frontera’s taco bowls are a breeze to prepare, and the 3 Bean Taco Bowl is no exception. It takes less than five minutes to heat this up in the microwave, and you don’t have to do anything complicated while it cooks. Just give it a quick stir midway through the process, and you’ll be good to go.

While the packaging may have gone through some minor changes, we couldn’t spot any differences between this bowl and the original. All the old ingredients are here, from the rice to the fried plantains to the delicious blend of leafy greens. The meal still clocks in at 350 calories, and it’s still completely vegan.

Frontera 3 Bean Taco Bowl

This still isn’t our favorite Frontera taco bowl. The mild smoky flavor of the dish is appealing, but we prefer the slightly spicier Veggie Taco Bowl. Still, every one of Frontera’s meals is an appealing blend of quality ingredients. Everything tastes like it was just cooked on the stove, and the hearty helping of beans makes this dish quite feeling.

The Frontera 3 Bean Taco Bowl is still a terrific vegan frozen meal with that doesn’t taste like it came out of the freezer aisle. Rick Bayless’ name might be off the box, but the gourmet taste is still there. If you’re in the mood for Mexican, make sure you give this meal and Frontera’s other offerings a try.
