We don’t review a whole lot of coffee-based products on Freezer Meal Frenzy. After all, coffee usually doesn’t come in frozen foods. Because of this unfortunate fact, you might not realize how passionate our staffers are about coffee. Trader Joe’s Brownie Crisp Coffee Ice Cream Sandwiches had us salivating as soon as we spotted them at our local TJ’s.
These frozen goodies are ready to eat straight out of the box. Each treat is individually packaged, making it easy to eat these ice cream sandwiches one at a time. There are four small sandwiches per box, but we found that a single treat was more than enough to satisfy our sweet tooths.
Flavor-wise, this is a complete success. The coffee ice cream is the perfect mix of bitter and sweet, and we’d be happy to eat it on its own. The brownie crisps, however, take this to the next level. They’ve got a fantastic fudgy flavor, and the chunks of chocolate add some crunch and cocoa to the mix.
However, you might have a few problems with this treat if you don’t eat it quickly enough. The rich coffee ice cream is delicious, but it melts very quickly. We had to chomp these down in just a few bites so that we couldn’t create a mess. This is a real treat, and we would have preferred to savor it for a little bit longer.
Of course, this is an easy problem to solve; just toss your ice cream sandwich in a bowl and eat it with a spoon. And you definitely shouldn’t let fear of messy mouths and sticky fingers prevent you from trying out this goodie. This is a cut above your standard ice cream sandwich. Both the ice cream and the crisps are good enough to eat on their own!
If you’re a fan of coffee, ice cream and brownies, this is a no-brainer. Head to your nearest TJ’s and grab a box of Trader Joe’s Brownie Crisp Coffee Ice Cream Sandwiches. Since these sandwiches are only 180 calories each, you don’t even have to feel guilty about indulging in one of these delectable little snacks.
