Gardein Chick’n Fajita Bowl Review

Gardein Chick'n Fajita Bowl

Ever since Gardein was founded in 2003, they’ve been making meat-free versions of chicken, fish, and other animal products. From family-sized meals to microwave dinners, they have all kinds of frozen offerings. Whether you’re new to the Gardein brand or a long-time fan, the Gardein Chick’n Fajita Bowl is worth a closer look.

Like most microwave dinners, this dish won’t take much effort to prepare. It takes just five minutes to get everything heated up. This bowl might not look like much when you take it out of the microwave, but if you give it a good stir, it’ll start to look a little bit closer to the picture on the box.

As you’re stirring, you’ll probably notice that most of the sauce is at the bottom of the bowl, so it might take some time before everything’s spread out evenly. Once your rice is a nice orange color, you’re ready to dig in.

If you’re used to eating spicy food, you might find this bowl to be a little on the bland side. The seasoning is definitely pretty mild. Still, the ingredients are all high in quality, and the vegetarian chik’n adds some interesting texture to the dish.

If you have some extra seasonings lying around, use them! It could really kick this meal up a notch. As is, this tastes more like a faux-chicken-and-rice bowl than the fajita dish that’s advertised on the box. If you’re a fan of Gardein’s Chik’n Fiesta Skillet meal, you’ll be glad to know that this dish to be very similar.

If you love spicy, authentic-tasting Mexican food, you’re not going to be that impressed with Gardein Chick’n Fajita Bowl. However, if you’re craving a basic vegetarian-friendly lunch, this could be just what the doctor ordered. Give this a try if you’re on the lookout for a meatless chicken dish.
