The things you’ll find in the freezer aisle at your local Target if you look closely can be a little surprising. For example, we were pretty excited about discovering the Archer Farms Tiramisu. Archer Farms, by the way, is a Target-exclusive brand.
Anyway, this tiramisu comes frozen in a plastic package, and it must be thawed for at least six hours before it’s ready to serve. You definitely won’t be eating this straight out of the freezer.
Is all that thawing time worth it? Absolutely. This is a rich, tasty treat.
The bottom layer is cakey and sweet, and the very bottom is doused in a sweet sauce that gives the cake some delectable moistness. The cream is very tasty as well, and it comes topped with cocoa and espresso powder.
Having said all that, we don’t think this tiramisu is perfect. This is a bit too soft for our liking, as it’s something you’ll probably want to eat with a spoon rather than a fork. We like tiramisu that has just a little firmness, and this definitely doesn’t have that.
The portion size is pretty generous here, as Archer Farms considers a quarter of a package to be a single serving. That’s actually a really good size, which you can see in the image above. That’s no small serving!
If you stick with a single serving, you’ll only be scarfing down 210 calories (90 from fat), which isn’t bad. After all, if you’re eating tiramisu, you’ve obviously decided to indulge a bit. With that in mind, the 210 calories are absolutely worth it. Of course, you might find yourself tempted to keep eating after the first quarter, so be careful.
The Archer Farms Tiramisu is a great dessert to share with some friends. While it’s just a tad too soft, it’s rich and delicious enough to make up for the softness.
