Lean Cuisine likes to change up their product packing from time to time. It’s hard to look at the Lean Cuisine section of the freezer aisle without spotting at least one dish that has a fresh new look. When we saw that the Lean Cuisine Tortellini with Red Pepper Sauce had switched its box art again, we decided to see if anything else about the dish had changed.
Almost every Lean Cuisine meal we’ve made has been a breeze to prepare, and this one is no exception. It takes minutes to make in the microwave, and it doesn’t require a lot of extra effort. If you’re looking for quick and simple meals you can take to work, this is definitely an easy option.
Unfortunately, this dish doesn’t have all that much to offer in the flavor department. When we reviewed this dish previously, we described it as bland, and we’d still say that’s the case. In fact, it doesn’t appear that Lean Cuisine has changed anything about this meal. It’s still 300 calories, it’s still pretty plain, and it’s still a very basic pasta dish.
If you’re not a fan of spice, you should know that this red pepper sauce isn’t spicy at all. There’s virtually no heat to this meal, which makes it a great choice for certain palettes. Lean Cuisine is also generous with their ricotta cheese. Every tortellini noodle is stuffed to the brim.
Whether or not you’ll like this meal real depends on your preferences. If you like simple dishes, or if you’ve enjoyed Lean Cuisine Tortellini with Red Pepper Sauce in the past, you’ll still find a lot to love here. If you like spicy foods that are bursting with flavor, this isn’t the frozen meal for you.
